Creating Index in a Secondary DB which is in LogShipping

Hi Everybody ,

i am new to BI and everything , but i have gone through the info what ever i am having , but still i am thinking is there any way for this.

Q : Can we create an Index to a table in a secondary Database (Standby/Read-only) which is used for LogShipping ?

My Solns. : I used "Restore database NEWDB with recovery " query to make it read-write mode and i have added the index to a secondary DB table . Now my problem is i am not able to change that Seco­ndaryDB to Standby/Read-only mode .i can change it to read-only mode but i cannot change it to Standby mode. 

Summary : Can any one tell me is there a way of making secondaryDB to standyBy or anyotherway of adding index to the SecondaryDB(StandBy) which is used in Logshipping purpose
